This is the third game we have bought in this series and they are all wonderful! As homeschoolers, we’re always looking for ways to make learning fun. I wanted a geography game that wasn’t trivia based, but instead allowed kids to learn geography by regular fun exposure (like Great States Jr., etc.), and these games fit the bill perfectly. We changed the rules slightly (like any discarded card is fair game, instead of just the top card on three discard piles), and we play somewhat cooperatively so that everyone finishes at about the same time. Also, after having Europe and Asia, we were disappointed there were no ocean cards, so we added stickers to the “car” cards so they could function as cards for specific oceans as well. The way we play it, our six year old is even better at making journeys than the adults are (so forget about the recommended age of 10 and up) and each round usually takes less than 10 minutes. I can’t recommend these games more highly.

Fun, educational, what more do you want? We modified the rules slightly so my 7 year old can play with our 10 year old and us but we all love it and have a much better idea of the geography of Africa now.

My whole family loves this game. Originally purchased for my son, my college aged-daughter and her friends played it until the wee hours of the morning. My husband and I play on a regular basis.
Ten Days in Africa is educational but above all it is fun. Strategy is the key to winning the game and maybe a little luck too. Every game is different. The only drawback is only four can play at a time, but there aren’t a huge number of countries in Afica to support more than four players anyway.
We enjoy this game so much that we are buying the 10 days in Asia and my daughter who is studying Modern Europe wants the 10 days in Europe game.

I am a mom who pushes educational games on my family. With 10 Days in Africa (and 10 Days in Europe) kids are having so much fun they hardly realize the geography lesson in the background. Just finished 4 games in a row. It’s easy enough for our six year old to team up and really participate, and for the eight and up kids to play against parents with a good chance of winning. My kids are asking for 10 Days in Asia next.

10 Days in Africa has multiple benefits. Not only is it a BLAST to play with family and friends, but it is also very helpful in expanding your understanding of world geography. Although it doesn’t include every country on the continent of Africa, it certainly includes most of them! I highly recommend this game to families with school-age children and even college-age adults because you can play this game multiple times in one setting due to the average time it takes to complete the game. 20-30 min. VERY FUN!
