The only way this game can go wrong is when the “judge” start becoming bias on who’s card they pick (i.e. you win based on your relationship with the person rather than from an objective view on your explanation of the chosen card).
*EDIT
Sorry for the misleading review. When I played with my friends, we were all unaware of the part of the rules that said how the players must submit their cards to the judge facedown in a pile so that the judge cannot know who submitted what — so as to give bias. Many thanks to Ray who randomly helped me clarify that in the comment of this review.

We have both and my kids love playing this one better.
Great for family evenings in the living room.

The only problem we found in playing this game was that there were multiple good answers which made it difficult to choose just one. But in a large group playing it, we had a good time. Fewer players probably would not encounter this as much.

I have played Apples to Apples and enjoyed it, but this one is the Bible Edition, and we gave it to grandchildren for Christmas. I’d think it’d be a good learning tool about the Bible.

As a youth minister, I bought this game to play with the youth & adults of my Lutheran congregation. I enjoy games that create conversation, and this will definitely do that. Especially when one of your youth pairs the adjective “delicious” up with “10 virgins”. There have been some genuinely good match-ups that I was excited to see the kids make, plus each noun card has a bible reference or fact about the subject. I think I’d be fine having an original copy of Apples to Apples on hand instead of this version, but it’s a fun way to teach the bible and that’s ma’ job!
