Since Chaucer, English has evolved as a world language, mainly as an instrument for England’s expansion overseas in the 18th and 19th centuries. It has now become a living world language with new words coming along on a daily basis, mainly from the USA. Bethump’d is a great game where we can learn to enjoy our common language without regard to country, continent or origin

Careful ordering! There are several editions of the game Bethump’d with Words, each with different questions:
The Senior Edition (sometimes just “Bethump’d with Words”) is the full game with rust-colored cover and gameboard, for teens and up.
The Discovery Edition (pictured here) is the full game with blue cover and gameboard, for ages 9 and up.
Voyager Edition (small black box) is an expansion set of question cards only (a simple version of the game can be played)
The Book Edition (orange book) contains new questions for both Senior and Discovery editions in book form.
Ensure you’re buying the edition you think you are, the Voyager edition is smaller than either of the full editions and has no board or pieces.
There is also a Bethump’d with History (only one edition that I’m aware of).
For further information, see [...]
About the games themselves: I have the Voyager and Book editions and the questions are interesting and fun but pretty difficult, especially at the higher levels. The Discovery edition could be a better fit for most people, but if you’re looking to challenge a real word game lover, go for the Senior edition.
