What could be better than a candy-themed fiesta with Dora, Diego, and Boots? Candyland, that venerable early-childhood board game gets spiced up with the cute characters of Nick Jr.’s Dora the Explorer cartoon show. Kids need not know how to read to enjoy the game because counting and color recognition guides them along this sweet path. Best of all, the game provides a learning opportunity for young readers since the game board has several objects and characters identified in both English and Spanish. The first player to make it to the fiesta at the end wins. Includes the game board, deck of game cards, English and Spanish instructions, and four character pawns: Dora, Diego, Boots, and Map/Backpack. –Porter B. Hall

We received this as a gift for our child. She loves Dora and enjoys playing the game to see which character will get to the fiesta first. It’s been good for teaching her about colors and counting. If your child likes Dora this will be a hit, otherwise you might as well get the regular Candyland version.

my 2 year old girl loves to play this game,it brings the family together, and it is really cute watching her directing the game and getting so happy when she gets to the fiesta!
I wish the cards were made of plastic ,because they bent quiet easy.

My daughter was given this game about two years ago. At first, I contemplated taking it back because we already owned original Candyland, but my daughter convinced me that the Dora version would be much more fun. I caved in and we kept the Dora Candyland.
The basic concept of the Dora version is exactly the same as your standard original Candyland, but the theme is changed. In this version we are trying to get to the Fiesta first. Instead of getting stuck on a gumdrop for the lose a turn spaces Swiper is the reason for losing a turn. The overall feel and look of this gameboard is cheerful and friendly. My oldest daughter was always a little scared of the Lord Licorice character on the original Candyland. The Grumpy Old Troll is the only grumpy looking character on the board, and that’s how he is on the show. His presence alone makes playing this game enjoyable for me.
The game pices for this version are very nice. Dora, Boots, Diego and Backpack are all decked out and ready to go to the fiesta.
My youngest daughter is now the one who plays with this game and she prefers it to the original version and so do her little friends, it’s a game they always ask to play when we host playdates.
My only gripe about this version is there is no story attached to the game. With original Candyland you get the story about Candyland and some background on all the characters you will meet along the way. I would have liked to have a story related to the Dora version, but it’s still a good game even without the story.
