Product Description
3 years & up. Magical treasure hunt game that reinforces four early learning fundamentals: letters, numbers, shapes and colors. Includes Cariboo Island game board, six treasure balls, two sets of cards (beginner and advanced), one key, a treasure chest, and rules sheet. For 2 to 4 players.

My daughter got this as a birthday present. It seems like a waste of money to me. There are so many more interesting and inspiring games to play that involves colors and numbers. This one didn’t even pass the 2 week test for my four-year-old. And no adult in our house would honestly want to play it. School Zone’s cute Crazy Eights card game for $[...] is a better bet for a game with two play options. Or have some real family fun with Orchard or Selecta Piccobello Laundry Game or Corso Cannelloni. Those all get 5-star recommendations.

We got this for our three year old for Christmas and he loves it. He wants to play everyday. Even our 6 year old likes to play although the beginner side is to easy for him and he peeks to see where the balls are. I highly recommend this game to anyone with young children. It’s alot of fun.

I purchased this for my four year old for Christmas. We have played it many times since. She loves it!!! Her seven year old brother really enjoys it as well. It perfectly combines an educational experience in a fun game format. The only fault I find with the game is that the balls do not “roll” into place as the directions indicate, and I usually have to manually place them. If I don’t, there are always a few that are free floating, and that kind of ruins the game. I’m sure this design flaw could be fixed, and that would make it the perfect game. Despite this, I find it one of the better games that we own, and I would highly recommend it.

This is such a fun game! My son received it as a gift for his third birthday. He knows all of his letters so we were able to play the advanced level. He loves the anticipation of whether or not the ball will be in the slot he chooses. I would highly recommend this game for learning the basics…letters, counting, colors. I hope it will continue to hold his interest…it is more interactive than the classics like Hi Ho Cherry-O or Candyland, etc., so I think we will continue to play and enjoy it.

Cariboo has lasted for 8 years in our house and has been played over and over.
The object of the game is to pick a card and ‘unlock’ a flip top door that matches the card. Inside the open door, a bouncy ball may await you! As you take turns opening flip doors, the balls accumulate in a special ‘tray’. When the last ball is found and pushed into the tray, the treasure chest opens and the last recipient of a ball is declared the winner.
Children from ages 3 to 6 will love to play this over and over since the placement of the balls changes so each game is a magic hunt. Matching skills include shapes (circle, square, triangle), colors (blue, yellow, green), numbers (one two and three) and beginning letter sounds (A, B, and C). There are multiple options for matching so if a child is not ready for one skill they can always match using something they are familiar with.
It is very simplistic but that is what makes it appealing to younger children. It has movement, playing cards, a magic key and a treasure chest. My kids always wanted to take the ‘jewel’ out of the treasure chest but it is fixed in place.
A fun game for a parent with a young child.
