This game rules! Beautiful plastic pieces (vikings,cities,boats) and a gorgeous gameboard and cards to boot! This is a game about Vikings, of course, but it is not a bloody game of pure battle and rampage. More it portrays the Vikings as settlers and traders, who fight only when all else fails. It really is a kinder, gentler view of our Norse ancestors. Due to this, the game appeals to a variety of players- those who like to trade and explore, as well as those who like to attack and conquor. I have played it with several different kinds of gamers, and they all love it- especially the superbly produced plastic playing pieces and colorful, well designed gameboard.
