Product Description
Explore four different environments and learn basic counting with Diego. This preschool game teaches kids basic counting skills with popular television character Diego. Simply draw number and animal tokens from the bag and match them to the correct card. Fill your card with ten matching tokens to win. No reading required to play. One or more players.

Played with a 2 year old and a four year old. Both know their numbers. The animals on the cards were not familiar enough to make this fun. They were not different enough for picture identification or to have children engage in conversation about animals.
Just o.k.

We bought this for our Diego obsessed 4 year old and have found it to be a fun and enjoyable game. When the pieces are drawn from the bag, we match the color to our board. If it’s our piece, then we can match animals as well as count them. It’s great for number recognition, especially for the younger set who might be confusing a few numbers. E.g. my son still has trouble with 9 and 6. We’ve also noticed that a few of the animals could be included in more than one group so we talk about why that animal could be a climber and a walker, for example.
This game does move a little slow, especially if you’re only playing with two people. To speed things along we remove the pieces that don’t match any player’s card. I also wish that there was a fact sheet giving us some information about each animal. It would be fun to read facts as we pull the pieces out of the bag. Of course my son knows nearly all 40 animals featured in the game due to his obsession with Diego. But it’d still be nice to have a fact sheet.
All in all, this is not a game I roll my eyes at when the little guy asks to play it. And if he suggests Candyland, you can bet I counter with this one! Well worth the $10 we paid for this game.

We have fun with this game. I like it because it’s mindless and quick and my four year old son likes the sorting and selecting. I also like that my son can play it with his kindergarten brother pretty independently since the rules are clear and it really isn’t very competitive.

My daughter is 3 and enjoys this game: the animal theme and the simple rules and of course Diego / Dora.
I only gave this game three stars because this is advertized as a counting game, and the animals are too small on the pieces to be counted by a preschooler. My daughter does not see the connexion between the large written number and the small animals on the game pieces.
Still a very good game otherwise: for classifying, it’s an excellent game!

I got this for my now 3 year old son since he loved numbers and Diego. The rules are very, very simplistic, so it’s easy to just pickup and play. He enjoys just pulling tiles out of the bag and putting them on the right spot, but of course wants Mommy, Daddy, and his baby sister to technically have one of the boards too. Definitely have already gotten our money’s worth from it.
