Editorial Review
When J.K. Rowling allowed the licensing of Harry Potter toys and games, she did so with the insistence that the products must feature an educational value beyond just being fun. Rowling’s wish has come true in this complex and entertaining game that uses players’ problem-solving skills as they explore Hogwart’s in a quest to find the elusive Sorcerer’s Stone. But rather than traveling through the school, the school, with its 11 rooms and intricate detailing, travels around the players. Electronic lights and sound effects add to the fun. Clear directions are included but the game does require a fair amount of concentration and may be too much for players younger than 8 years old. As was the case with the Harry Potter movie and books, the game is equally delightful and interesting for both kids and adults. Three AA batteries are required but not included. –John Moe
