Large Chinese Checkers

$17.50

  • Beautiful wooden version of the classic family game.
  • The object: Be the first to transfer all your pieces to the corner opposite your home base.

Product Description
Sound the gong and prepare for the Far East with this beautiful wooden version of the most exciting and ideal family game. …OK…so it was originally called “Stern-Halma” upon its invention Germany in 1893 and only renamed Chinese Checkers by an American to make the game sound more exotic No matter, you can still pretend you’re playing in fierce competition with the Huns while drinking tea on the Great Wall…OK, OK… so it’s not even made in China… Still this classic strategy game is fun for everyone and families large and small: designed for 2-6 players, the object is for a player to be the first to transfer all his pieces to the corner opposite his home base by moving pieces into an adjacent empty hole or jumping over a single peg of any color.

Dimensions: 9 2/3″ x 10″ x 3/5″

2 Reveiws for Large Chinese Checkers

  1. I wish you would have described the product more. From the photo, I’m not sure if it folds in half or what. I’ve ordered 3 sets but now I’m a little concerned. I did not see the dimensions before I ordered and while a customer said it was smaller than they had hoped for, I should have searched a little more. Not sure what the hanging loops are for either. I guess I’ll find out soon enough.

I’ve been searching for a wooden set with wooded pegs for over a year and could not find one. I have such a set and my grandchildren love it. One family got a chinese checker set that was very cheaply made and that is why I’ve been searching for a sturdier one ever since. I am looking forward to receiving the three sets in the mail and hope I’m satisfied with them. I just wish you had more details about the loops and if it folds in half. I did not know how to rate the set because I have not received it yet, but I could not write this until I rated it. I rated it with the hopes that that will be the correct rating.

  2. It should not say ‘LARGE’ Chinese Checkers, as it is small, smaller than I was hoping for. I should have read the description better than I did. But, otherwise, I am pleased with it. I notice that some people, regarding other Chinese Checkers games, are not happy with the ‘plastic’ pegs they are getting with their wooden games. These ARE wooden pegs with this game!
