I was excited to play after receiving this as a Christmas gift! After playing for 20 minutes the only thing that kept us playing was the bottle of wine to go with it. Ridiculously repetitive, we picked the wrong answers on repeats only to make the game more challenging. A total bust and I wouldn’t waste ANY money on this game. I could fashion my own version quite easily considering the GREAT number of 80′s tunes! They are missing the BEST. NO Run DMC, Van Halen, G-N-R, punk, Aerosmith, Howard Jones, New Order, the list continues and could go on and on. The “Name that Tune” title is misleading at BEST. The insane amount of “Pop Trivia” is bloated with irrelevant facts on the 80′s! Go to last FM and name the tunes yourself–you’ll have more fun.

I bought this DVD game because my husband and I enjoy reminiscing about our favorite 80′s music. But it is so repetitive that we were both disappointed. We have played the game 3 different times, just the 25 point short game, and found it asking us the same questions. Also, it does not tell you the right answer if you miss it. I think that would make it more fun. There are certainly enough songs from the 80′s that they could make 100′s of questions without repetition.
About one-third of the questions are trivia about 80′s band members, which is different than naming a tune. Not as fun.

Unlike some other DVD games Imagination has put out, this is a fantastic game. It allows for team play, which is good because two heads are sometimes better than one. The diversity of music is enough of a variety to keep it interesting. Other features like stealing points make the game unpredictable. In the half dozen times I’ve played this game, only one song has repeated. A good party game that I would recommend.
