Great game for developing tracking and visual perception skills. Modify the rules so more cards are selected if it starts to bog down, have your children arrange the rooms in different ways and talk about it. Flexible and fun -the best kind of game.

This was the game I ALWAYS wanted to play. The goal is to make it from the basement to the attic. The fun part is that the game is composed of tiles with excellent detailed illustrations of many rooms with some sort of funny action happening in them, that you then use to comprise the different floors of the building. I remember having as much fun preparing the game board by arranging the tiles as actually playing the game! You can’t go wrong with this one. I can’t wait to introduce it to my son once he gets old enough (4 1/2, 5). This game can take from five minutes to play to 20 or 30, so it is fun to play multiple rounds. If you have a budding artist or detail-oriented child on your hands, this game would certainly be a winner, and would also help to foster creative thinking and – like the product description says – promote reading skills. This game can be passed on through generations because of its timeless illustrations and high quality. Mine is 20 years old and looks like it was just opened up yesterday.
In short, this game teaches that you can have as much fun on the journey instead of just having a goal to make it to the destination. It is worth every penny!

Your four year old should be able to “get it” in one play. After that, there’s not much to learn.
