Installing this, like all convekta software, is a hit or miss ordeal. If you are a programmer who plays chess, you may be ok. Otherwise, stick with user-freindly Fritz-Chessbase programs. Extra rating points above 2700 are hardly going to make a differnce to 99.99% of players. Wait until convekta becomes more user friendy and has some semblance of customer support.

Well i’d been rybka costumer for almost two years. and this is my review.
Rybka is owesome. I always want the rybka engine comes with a friendly console, and this is my answer. Rybka by chessbase. Problem solved
I made a macth in my computer between this new Rybka, and new engine that chessbase Ltd. launched on august, Rybka won (w=2, D=4, L=0 for 5min).
ABOUT the ENGINE
First, Rybka is the strongest engine of the world since 2006, in 2007 was the computer chess champion. Rybka’s signature, is its positional algorithms, it which are as close to the chess-player’s (human)style of thinking.
Rybka is the most perfect engine is not to tactical or strategical. Nice balance style.
Why should you choose this Engine, over other chess programs?
In this version, in you can insert a candidate move, and the computer runs on the line you choose, and many variant you want, so you can create your own tree. This help a lot to improve your chess, because, the engine is induce to play like your style.
In my experience, sometimes the candidates moves that Rybka finds, is very clever and natural, even other software didn’t consider.

This version of Rybka could beat the world chess champion but could also provide a person at any level a challenge, since one can change the playing strength.
For those wishing to analyze their games, Rybka does a fine job suggesting alternate moves in a game. It does not go very deeply into games — it cannot really teach a person theory. The new Monte-carlo feature is good. This allows you to input any part of a given game, and the program plays many, many consecutive games very fast to see the winning/drawing/losing possibility.
The look of the game is not too bad. For those who lose Chessmaster’s many beautiful 3D boards, Rybka is not for you. I like a simple wood, 2D board anyway. 3D on a coomputer screen is still 2D to me.

Rybka 3 is the world champion in chess software. It is produced by 2 different companies. Convekta and ChessBase. This Rybka is by ChessBase and it is awesome!
What I like in my chess engines: excellent analysis abilities. Let’s face it: 90% of all chess engines on current hardware are able to beat me to pulp. So why buy a program at ueber-Grandmaster strenght? The answer: to get ueber-Grandmaster analysis. And here Rybka 3 struck gold.
The interface is from ChessBase and it will be very familiar to most chess players. Easy to use and friendly.
I do not own the Convekta version of Rybka so I can not give an opinion. But this Rybka 3 rocks!
