Product Description
This ancient game popular in India as Moksha Patamu was played as a metaphor for Hindu ethics and consciousness long before it became this all time childrens classic. Historically, the Ladders represented virtues such as generosity, faith, and humility. The Snakes represented vices such as lust, anger, murder, and theft. Landing on virtue would let you advance, while landing on vice would cause you to fall back. The moral of the game was that a person could attain salvation through performing good deeds.

Today, this modern version, first billed as England’s famous indoor sport is best known for developing virtues such as counting and turn-taking, skills that, while not guaranteeing nirvana, are sure to help young children advance in their development. A simple game of seesawing action, where winning is dependent on only the throw of the dice, it is sure to delight.

This beautifully made wooden version of this most popular of children’s board games is for two to four players. It contains a handsomely painted game board, a fine crafted wooden box, individual game pieces, and a classic wooden colored die. The high quality, make and design are sure to last for generations.

One Review for Snakes And Ladders Game

  1. PK says:

It says “CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts. Not for children under 3 yrs” in the product description, but when the product actually came in, its recommended for children over 5 yrs age by the manufacturer. Also its kind of small. A little bigger would have been better.
