I purchased this from Amazon for a gift. When open & using we discovered it had missing pieces. Called Amazon they no longer sell The Settlers of Catan 5-6 player Extension. I need to return it & they will refund my money. Not able to purchase it from them again. Very disappointed in Amazon.

this is just the extension for the settlers of catan game… you have to buy the standard settlers of catan in order to use this

Our friends introduced us to the Settlers of Catan game and we are now going to buy it with the 5-6 person expansion pack. We used to meet every weekend and play cards. The game is such that none of us would have bought it on our own. We would have possibly picked it up and even read it, but would have just put it back down and walked away. However, our friends were introduced to it and enjoyed it so much they bought it and introduced it to us. I got on line looking to find out if the game board components are available in another substance (Mylar maybe?). I’m not sure if it is made of compressed cardboard or what, but it’s pretty flimsy until it is all put together and then it’s seems to hold together ok. I think it would be a much better quality game though if it were made out of some type other firmer, stronger grade material. Each game lasts about as long as a short monopoly game would take and changes every time. It is very addictive once you figure out what your doing.
