Editorial Review
There are six games in this board-and-cards set, all revolving around dogs. In each one, the pooches organize themselves in different ways–sometimes into packs of their own breed, sometimes into a more motley crew of mutts with a common cause. For instance, in “Alpha Bet,” players act as alpha, or leader, dogs and try to recruit as many underlings as possible, while in “Play Time” everyone bands together into one big happy pack. “Pet Store” is a “Go Fish”-like card game; “Dog Pound Rescue” aims to save as many dogs as possible from the pound. Small pieces make this a choking hazard for young children. Also, while board illustrations are cute and accessible, all children should be advised that real dog packs–including familiar neighborhood pets–are not always particularly friendly or safe. –Tom Keogh

This game has some surprisingly fun features and all six game versions are easy to learn. Kids get to pretend they are the leader of a pack of friendly neighborhood dogs, all different breeds, names, and personalities. Cute pictures, too! Players even get to wag their “tails,” bark, and roll over if they land on certain squares. It really gives you a good idea of what it’s like to be a dog. I enjoy playing it, too.
