Product Description
An all-time classic favorite, the game of Trivial Pursuit is now singin’ a new tune. Play the all-new multi-media version of Trivial Pursuit, giving gamers an interactive experience of pop culture trivia. The first of its kind, this high-tech game merges board game basics with DVD technology. And for all you Trivial Pursuit faithfuls, don’t worry — you’ll still have the same game pieces and challenging question cards. Game includes 2,400 card questions and a DVD with 600 questions.Editorial Review
Count on Trivial Pursuit to keep up with new millennium trends. This tremendously popular game has been updated with a fun DVD feature that allows players to view TV clips, songs, commercials, movie scenes, and more tidbits from pop culture. As in the original Trivial Pursuit game, two to four adult players (or teams) pose questions to one another in six categories, in this case TV, Fads, Buzz, Music, Movies, and Sports & Games. As they correctly answer questions, players move around the board, collecting colored wedges. To win a scoring wedge, though, players must answer an on-screen question with a variety of visual cues. So rev up those pop culture engines and get ready to come up with the name of Big Star’s first record or the candy Ronald Reagan favored. The game includes game board, DVD, 400 question-and-answer cards, one die, four cute tokens (lava lamp, mixed tape entitled “Awesome Mix/Makeout Tunes,” cell phone, and joystick), 30 scoring wedges, and instructions. Note: although the game features over 2,000 new questions, only a few hundred of them are DVD questions, leading to inevitable repetition. –Emilie Coulter

5 Reveiws for Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture DVD

  1. Bought the game at Wal-Mart on special ($26) and thought the DVD aspect of the game would be really cool. My 2 teens, husband and I hated it. We struggled through one game that took 3 hours to complete. We were miserable! Enjoyed an older version of this game, but the questions on this one include references to baseball players wife swapping, playboy, negative slant on questions about Bill O-Reilly (game is not for conservatives). One question on naked photos of Laura Slesinger(sp.) was also ridiculous, and we didn’t need to know that particular trivia existed!
The questions and answers are poorly written as well.
I went through every question in this game over the holiday (due to foot surgery had lots of time on my “hands”!). I took a black marker and deleted all the sexually offensive questions from each card. Here are the stats: I deleted something off of 93 cards with 2 cards having 3 categories deleted and 14 cards with 2 categories deleted. Breakdown in each category: 17 questions deleted from “Movies”, 24 from “TV”, 21 from “Music”, 14 from “Sports and Games”, 26 from “Buzz” and 28 from “Fad”. There are approx. 130 questions deleted so we can play with another family though I hope to dump this sanitized version on someone else.
As a family game this one is NOT!
I’d say this one is good only for college kids that are very drunk at a party. Buy any other version of this game and you’d do better, liberal, conservative or confused!

This has been my most favorite Trivial Pursuit game by far! The game goes very quickly and the questions aren’t impossible like some of the other games. I have really enjoyed it.

  3. Reading the reviews plus the fact that you can only play this game once – it definitely does not deserve that many stars.

  5. M. Jolley says:

I purchased this game baecause it looked so fun…especially with the DVD included. I played the 20th century Trivial Pursuit Game and did not like it at all. Game took way too long and most of the questions were from another planet.

This game is SO fun! It’s updated with new and fresh questions, and the DVD with additional questions..all about pop culture makes this game perfect for generations X and Y!

    Definitely worth the money!
